Ask Before You Advise
Good leaders do not solve every problem immediately. They first understand what kind of help is actually needed.
01
The idea
Advice can be useful, but premature advice can make people feel unheard. Start with one or two questions that reveal what the person has already tried, what is blocking them, and what outcome they want.
02
Why it matters
A better question often prevents a longer conversation later. It also builds ownership instead of creating dependence on the person with the answers.
03
Try this today
Before offering a solution today, ask: “What have you tried, and what kind of help would be most useful?”
